How
to get to Les Houches
Whilst
not essential, having a car in Les Houches is useful and will
allow you to fully exploit the huge variety of resorts covered
on the Mont-Blanc ski pass.
Drive
The
road links to Chamonix are excellent and if driving from the
UK, the journey takes approximately 8 hours from Calais. Tolls
cost approx. £80 for a return trip.
Fly
The
nearest airport is Geneva International, and is a 1 hour drive
from Les Houches. Lyon and Turin airport are approximately a
2 hour drive from Les Houches. Listed below are are airlines

Airport
Transfer Service
There are several transfer companies based in Chamonix who will
collect you from the airport and take you direct to your accommodation.
We have recommended some on our links page. The cost is approximately
30 to 40 Euros per person for a shared transfer one way. Alpy
Bus seem to offer the best rate from 24 Euros per person one
way for group bookings.
Bus
There
is a reliable bus service (SAT) from Geneva airport to Les Houches
and Chamonix which runs several times a day during the main
winter and summer seasons.
Train
There
is an SNCF train station in Les Houches which runs to St Gervais/Le
Fayet and all other resorts in the Chamonix valley. The TGV
fast train runs into St Gervais/Le Fayet from Geneva airport
and other destinations.
